I think the correct move would be to enforce wage parity for the H1Bs rather than throwing out the baby with the bath water. I don’t want to lose out on international talent for the sake of protecting employment for people whose only qualification is where their mother gave birth.
H1-Bs are usually paid MORE, not less, because of wage parity laws that have existed for DECADES. The application process has a 6 month delay just to determine the minimum wage that the government forces employers to pay.
Note that diffsitter isn’t abandoned or anything. I took a year off working and just started a new job so I’ve been busy. I’ve got a laundry list of stuff I want to do with this project that will get done (at some point)
I don’t think that’s true. C++ just has a lot of baggage to deal with and people are doing the best they can with some ridiculous constraints. The sanitizers and things like clang-tidy, and better analysis in compilers seem to be really well received.
