i don't trust the zuck at all, and am not naive about any of this. I'm sure the words used above are watertight in court of law but I bet you there are shenanigans in places where light don't reach
sadly I'm one of those "knowledge worker" that aren't extraordinary enough to survive on my own so I have a job. And I feel the cold stare from the teenager me lol that dude would not approve such atrocity for sure. daily refresh of biometric data is just downright degrading...
entire generation of kids have grown up since introduction of iphone/ipad... I'm sort of glad I got to live what world was like before internet though, still escape into the mountains with kids so they can some of that disconnected feeling but with starlink hovering overhead nowadays just don't feel the same anymore
i typically don't want to re-enter credentials etc, so I always do encrypted backup via itunes.. took 6-7hrs just transferring photos quite hands off most of the time but still painful, can't imagine what android guys go through
i'm just not a serious enough cook, my kitchen's temperature varies humidity too the water coming out of the tap is random too so I just gave up at the end. Nowadays I read couple of recipes to get the gist of it, define the theme in my head and just go to town... I almost never have all the ingredients, so I substitute at will. I guess one instrument that I still use regularly is my Thermapen, food safety calls for one; and family feels more reassured when they see chicken breast that is ever so slightly pink but the temp reading suggests it's safe lol
I loved google reader, many people were blogging and social network was "ick" as people immediately associated the term with okcupid/friendster(myspace?) and reader was decentralised and encouraged all walks of life to participate... maybe I just missed the vibes back then, gosh I was so hopeful
i've long held a view that what CCP is doing is cancer to all citizens in previously free countries, our democratic leaders are quick to show disgust and disdain, but the actual owners of the country, actual powers that be are enamored and mesmerised by what they're doing to the Chinese populace especially when it comes to messaging/propaganda. block and track everyone then just tiktok your way high heavens. it's not even what aldous huxley meant by the pleasure essay anymore it's deeper and more manipulative
