To add to this, the addition of a style guide is helpful on two fronts.

* Components and patterns are standardized, allowing for less process in design reviews and quicker iteration

* Engineers can create component libraries that mirror style guide elements and turn frontend work into something a little closer to 'lego' building

I found this post useful regarding small caps. It seems as though if the typeface contains the glyphs and you're using Chrome or Safari, you can use font-feature-settings: "smcp"

Forty Stories by Donald Barthelme - a collection of short stories

Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon - an encyclopedic novel, to say the least

Barthelme is the best. My wife and I love the story Conversations with Goethe. We frequently get it off the shelf and read it to one another. "Youth," Goethe said, "is the silky apple butter on the good brown bread of possibility."

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. The story gradually unfurls itself from the first few pages and new layers are constantly being added. It was written a few years after Hiroshima and Nagasaki but seems even more relevant today. It's very short and can be read in a single sitting if one is determined.
