In this hypothetical, who is the individual or group of people that you envision would take the initiative to start a new city? What is their incentive to do so?
And to top it all off, they frrquently even vibe code their reddit posts. There is absolutely nothing of interest to interact with those posts.
The amount of reddit posts I land on from the last few years which are noticeable longer with no added value for the increased length than they would have been in the past is getting very annoying.
This seems to get brought up in every hn post on video game mulriplayer, and it makes me wonder: do you play video games? I dont know of any video games that do multiplayer that way, and i would think that alone suggests its not a good idea.
Who wants to play a game with 50ms+ keypress to screen update delay? Sounds miserable.
It makes me laugh whenever there's a post about anticheat on the frontpage and without missing a beat there's always a comment there - "why don't they just run the entire game logic server side and stream the updates to the client??? are they stupid?"
I don't play it much anymore, but I used to be a heavy player: the latency isn't 50 ms on GeForce Now (with a French connection, which is pretty good).
GeForce Now has the advantage of being able to pick a server closest to specifically you. If you're near a major datacenter, you're probably getting sub 20ms delay. Annoying, but playable for many games. That is not the case as soon as you try multiplayer with people in different metro areas.
Its impressive in the gimmick sense, but its not impressive in the "i want to use this tool" sense.
I use cluade code to help work in godot, but I dont try to use claude as a one shot tool anymore. I haven't gotten good results out of it and I haven't seen any good results out of it elsewhere.
I use claude the same way for all programming I do (game, web, minecraft mods). I say I want to accomplish a certain task, claude puts together a plan and explanation, I question any assumptions or things I dont understand, maybe do some research into parts that are new to me, and then either ask claude to implement the feature or I ask claude for a high-level concept and I implement it myself.
It is not 90% of the task. If it was, a first draft would be 90% of the task of writing, and it never has been. You write a first draft so you can get to the editing portion.
If universities didn't have the right to expel students at all and that was proposed, and they had a history of turning small law into totally encompassing law, I would fairly confidently say that the university is on the path to obtain the ability to expel students for any reason it seems fit.
And its worth pointing out that China recently stocked up their strategic oil reserves to a significant degree. They would be the very tipping top high end of reserves.
