Tech-centric positions don't have enough sympathy for email job people. If there aren't meetings all day, then what do they do? They run out of email eventually. To correct poorly set meetings, including "scrum", have someone take notes and review those notes after. If there was constantly nothing to gain, then that meeting is 86'd and whoever set up that meeting gets their meeting setup privileges suspended.
