Well it's more about our lived reality, I can't remember the last time any current US politician successfully campaigned then enacted legislation that benefits workers; it's always been forms of corporate welfare and more corporate welfare for like the last 60 years.
The new dealers can be counted on one hand (they're the ones 70+) while the neoliberals have been at the helm for 40 years.
How many of those are new deal democratic politicians now? That is the distinction that matters because old neoliberals do exist and have outnumbered new dealers for decades now.
