I also notice quite a lot of the technical articles I submit to HN from Ars are quite detailed and truthful.

Ars is not one voice. Imho Peter Bright's articles esp. related to OSS and MS should always be read with an "open mind".

Perhaps he had to write Peter instead of Ars.
